• Chicano Latino Caucus Endorses John Burton for CDP Chair

  The Chicano Latino Caucus of the California Democratic Party announced their support of John Burton for State Party Chair.
  
  

  Chair Mickie Luna said, "Our caucus has come to an agreement that Senator Burton's policies and priorities as party chair will strongly embrace the goals and direction of our caucus.  Therefore, with enthusiasm, we endorse fomer Senator John Burton for Chair of the California Democratic Party and are firmly committed to working together to deliver the Latino Vote and lead the CDP to victory in 2010!"
  
  

  The Chicano/Latino Caucus has its history steeped in activism. It was formed out of the need to put the Chicano agenda in front of party leaders who saw the Chicano vote as auxiliary to the election of politicians.  The Caucus is providing leadership for the local chapters which can raise money, educate voters and recruit and endorse political leaders who support and back the Chicano/Latino political agenda.
